20.01.05 The concrete footings are dug, and the concrete poured for the slab. A raised plinth is installed above floor level where the outside walls will go – which will later keep the staw bales high and dry.

May 2005 The cross beams go on, the poles are cut to length, the roof trusses are installed and the frame starts to take shape.
Sept 2005 – the upper section frame is completed, followed by the internal timber framing for the inside walls that will not be made of straw.
10.10.05 The edge protection is installed in anticipation of the roofing being fitted by Haggarty Roofing. This photo shows the fascia & gutter part way installed. We chose Night Sky fascia & gutter, and Zincalume roofing.

19.10.05 We have a roof! And the upper corro walls have been installed – which was a lot of fun for the roofers, as it is not the norm to have to fit the corro around tree trunks!

Dec 2005 The big concertina door and the round window are installed. The timber framed windows go in too.

Dec 2005 The steps to upstairs and the mezzanine floor goes down. The floor is made from recycled hardwood – blackbutt.
31.12.05 The upper story is timbered in.
