When Marcel defeated the great dragon of war, Mortregis, he thought he'd destroyed The Book of Lies as well. But one fragment remains, and this is what his brother Fergus has taken with him on a journey that is part quest for revenge, part search for his own place in the world. In this much anticipated sequel to The Book of Lies, Fergus hunts down the ruthless Damon armed with a weapon that will let him challenge this man in mortal combat. One of them will not live to see the story's end. As Marcel and Nicola pursue Fergus, each with their own cares, Nicola will discover the value of the very thing she has been fleeing, and risk losing it forever. As
for Marcel, the new Master of the Books, is he truly a great
sorcerer or nothing but a charlatan? Only when the fate of the
entire land lies in his hands will he know what his destiny
is, and only then may the last fragment of the Book of Lies
be destroyed. |

Berrin has returned to the safety of the underground storm water tunnels as the new leader of the Rats. With Olanda's help, he sets about breeding the precious moths which they have brought back with them from outside the city. But these moths seem a flimsy weapon to use against the fearsome might of Malig Tumora. When Malig Tumora's henchmen, the Gadges, destroy the breeding grounds despair sets in and Berrin's leadership is questioned. Worse still, his beloved uncle, Ferdinand, is close to death in his darkened prison. Does Berrin have the courage and the wits to outsmart their ruthless enemy? With grown-ups now roaming the streets and trying to take charge, the Rats must remain free long enough to carry out their daring plans. For this is a struggle to the death - only one side can win and for the other, Doomsday has come. This final book in the Doomsday Rats series will have you on the edge of your seats to the final page.
The Trolley Boys When Brent wrecks his brother's bike, he has to spend the summer holidays collecting trolleys at the local Shopping Town to pay for a new one. This turns out to be more fun than he expected when he meets Nathan, a one-of-a-kind eccentric who has turned a boring job into a serious career. Then Nathan is fired and a valuable diamond necklace goes missing. Are the two events linked? The cops certainly think Nathan is a supect and even Brent is not entirely sure his weird friend is innocent. The mystery is solved, though, in a way that only a pair of dedicated Trolley Boys could possibly come up with. I had so much fun writing this adventure. You will never look at a supermarket trolley in quite the same way after reading it. |
