The Book of Lies (USA Edition)

 

If you are reading this, chances are you're an American. So Hi! Not many of my thirty books are published in the USA but I'm proud to count The Book of Lies as one of them. The book has done very well for me in Australia and I am hoping it will attract a bit of attention in America. Perhaps you could help me spread the word.

At right you'll see the three versions of the cover. Interesting interpretations, aren't they. The text is exactly the same in the Australian and the UK editions, but the New York editor, Tara Weikum, felt the story needed to run a little faster for American readers, so the US edition is a few thousand words shorter. I was happy to agree to her suggestions and I'm very pleased with the result.

The Book of Lies is my first attempt at fantasy. I'm better known for my contemporary teenage novels, which you can read about elsewhere on this site, but fantasy seemed like a great opportunity to write a rollicking adventure. The central theme about the nature of lies was fun to work with, too. Readers have been emailing me for years about my books, but I was completely blown away by the response to The Book of Lies. I hope my American readers will let me know what they think of the story, too.
