Music

Music is a great interest for us.
Eunice has and plays a Yamaha MC400 electronic organ, which is supposed to be midi compatible, to go into the computer BUT we were advised that - as it is SO OLD, don't even think about it!! However, the Casio keyboard is compatible and is also portable, enabling duets to be played with a local friend who plays the piano.
Listening - is an even bigger part of our lives and we listen to a wide range - from classics to modern rock. But NO OPERA, NO brass bands, NO Show music.
The composers of which we have most recordings are Vivaldi Telemann and Mozart, but we enjoy from early mediaeval music up to about the 1900's mainly baroque, but with a few 20th century pieces (not many...)

Eunice likes Schubert, we both like Boccherini, Albinoni, Boyce, and the three Stamitz composers. We like traditional jazz and Dixieland, but not modern jazz, and some country music. Ron's particular favourites would be The Angels, AC/DC, Bryan Ferry, John Cougar Mellencamp, The Rolling Stones, Dire Straits - but one of his most listened-to cassettes is non-stop dancing 1600 - which is a bit of a contrast.

For us the CD's are a great improvement on the vinyl records and cassette tapes. We bought our first CD in 1985, and it was Dire Straits 'Brothers in Arms'.

The next four were typical of our interests 2- Bryan Ferry, (These foolish things), 3)Beethoven's Symphonies nos 4 and 7, 4) Chopin (Piano Concerto No.2 plus a Polonaise or two) and 5) Liszt Piano Concertos 1 and 2.

Altogether we have a mix of about 45% popular and standard to 55% Classic music CD's.
